2011 was amazing wasn't it? Incredible show after amazing show at WiFU, and the new excitement of The Snug Club, our outpost in Cromer, Norfolk.

2012 is upon us. Booked so far Carl Jones and Erynn Marshall. Personal favourites of mine. Carl, an elder statesman of mountain folk, is very familiar to UK audiences. Erynn probably not at all - but absolutely instrumental in encouraging me to set this old thing up. And in my view, apart from being an important cultural administrator at the Blue Ridge Music Centre in Virginia, admired author and academic in the field, SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST FIDDLERS I'VE EVER HEARD! There's a lot of Carl and Erynn on Youtube but my favourite is this informal moment during the long lonely walk onto the stage at Galax....

Above and beyond we have a stellar line up: The Foghorn Stringband and back in full force for a little WiFU tour. And we shall be arranging a very special, very big evening for our old friends for one night only in London.

If there ever was a banjo superstar it is Adam Hurt. Widely considered to be the most accomplished banjo player of his generation (and maybe beyond) Adam and long time collaborator Beth Hartness comes to the UK for a micro tour organised by WiFU. And he'll be bringing rising fiddle star Stephanie Coleman. Watch out for tour dates and workshops.Final dates to be announced.

And Aaron's in danger of becoming a fixture. In fact he's almost part of our DNA now, he is so representative of the quality that we hold so dear at WiFU. Next summer he'll be returning to the UK for a WiFU tour with two fiddlers of such energy and ambition, Joe Troop and Tom Bailey, to create what could truly be described as a fiddling supergroup. Already booked for the Aldeburgh Festival and more they'll be all over the UK. If anyone else has seen this lot play together you'll share my excitement at the prospect of the range, the virtuosity, the danger....
